FROM THE SHADOWS REVIEWS THE FALL
EJ Stevens, architect of the From The Shadows blog dedicated to all things paranormal, issued a fantastically glowing review of THE FALL today. It's a truly glowing review, and we're more than proud that she had as many nice things to say about it as she did. FROM THE SHADOWS REVIEWS THE FALL Add Comment Just to let anyone who's interested know, The Fall is now on sale at Amazon.com for 14.39. I'm not sure how long this sale will last, so anyone who is interested in a good book at a discounted price, feel free to click on the link below: The Fall: The Rift Book I Trade Paperback In case anyone hasn't noticed, we developed a Staff Reviews page on this website. The reason for this for me to assist mu fellow independent authors by reviewing their work and giving those reviews a public forum. Daniel Arenson's 2007 book Firefly Island is the last one I've finished. The review is on my personal blog, and also here at TRO as the Spotlight Review. It's a fantastic book, and if you have a Kindle, I suggest checking it out. Read review > For any who haven't seen the front page, we now have a trailer for the first book. Check it out below. We are pleased to announce that The Fall: The Rift Book I is now available in the Amazon Kindle store for only $4.99. Unfortunately, the Kindle as it is presently constructed cannot be formatted to include the illustrations in the form we want them, so we have chosen to forgo them in this format - hence, the discounted price. However, the book itself is still there, and if one wants to see the fantastic work Jesse created, they will just have to invest in a hard copy. Add to this the fact that Kindle is becoming a booming market in and of itself, and it would be foolish to ignore. You can find the product's Kindle page here. In other news, the editing of the second book is past the halfway point. I am very excited about this for many reasons, but mostly because, of the four parts (or seasons, as I originally dubbed them), the winter is my favorite. It is a quieter novel, more introspective, and of the four comes closest to being a true "zombie novel". The firm title is "Dead of Winter". This is good stuff, folks. You won't be disappointed. Be back tomorrow with possibly more random posts. This sticking to format thing is driving me nuts. - RJD Hey hey, I'm not so pleased... Alright maybe I am pleased. I felt like high-jacking Rob's post too. -j. Well, we got the first little write-up of the book, and it's from my friend and the novel's first editor, Michelle Howarth. She is declining to review it until she's re-read the story (while finally not having to stare at a glowing screen), but she was nice enough to link our site (and The Fall's product page on the Brit Amazon), so take a look if you like. Also, put aside the time to peruse some of Shelly's own work. She's one of the most talented young authors I've ever met, and her sense of humor is sublime. You can visit the site by clicking on this sentence and then go to her reading/reviews section. Let's keep it going. RJD Yesterday, we two particulars got together and trudged through some technical issues that needed rehashing, which means the Amazon store should be back up and running again. There might be a slight delay between the actions of ourselves and the publishers, however, so even if you head over there and find it "NOT AVAILABLE", don't worry about it; it'll be back up soon. We've been stuck on 18 sales for a few days now. I am not depressed by this. It is a slow process, this building of a readership. Once the first round of reviews come in, we'll start our advertising campaign. After all, Clive Barker didn't just suddenly appear out of nowhere. He had to work at it. And work at it we will. Then...it's off to the races, my dearies. We WILL do this. I guarantee you. RJD Busy, busy, busy. That describes me to a T. I've been hard at work re-writing the second book, and let me tell you, I LOVE where this story is going. Of course, I already know how it ends (seeing as I wrote it), but writing takes on new forms every time you re-explore it. Those forms are exciting, intense, and full of mystery, even to the author. Just like the story itself, it's an adventure. But that's enough out of me. I have to stop dicking around on the internet and get back to work. Peace out, folks! Ah. Another day, another 2 sales. That brings us up to 13 people. So now, it's off to work - the type of work I enjoy, that is. Here's the plan: - Check up on all this Webworld stuff - Work out for 25 minutes - Dinner - Sit down and continue editing the second book - Pass out That pretty much covers it, don't you think? Tomorrow's just a day away. RJD I am pleased to announce that TRO already has 11 sales. Yes, that leaves us 3989 away from our goal number, but that's all right. These things have to start somewhere, and this is that place: via word of mouth, family, and friends, and drive, and not thinking about the potential pratfalls, because they don't matter. Thank you all who've purchased your copy. And thank you all those who are thinking about it but haven't yet.
