Yes, folks, the new book is up and running - on Amazon and Amazon UK in ebook format, that is. The paperback is still a few days away, but it'll get here, I promise.
So, here's the cover and description:
"Ken Lowery is a man at odds with his life. He hates his job, is disappointed in his marriage, and feels resigned to leading a mundane existence. That all changes when his wife brings home a rambunctious Black Labrador puppy named Silas, who forges a remarkable connection with Ken and begins to heal his inner turmoil. When some neighborhood children start to go missing, he takes it upon himself to protect those around him and is thrust into a surreal world where monsters roam. Not everything is what it seems to be, he soon discovers, including his new best friend." I really need to thank Dans Arenson and Pyle for their work beta-reading this manuscript. And of course I need to thank Jesse for the fantastic cover, Mel Rico for the lettering, and my wife for putting up with me. Last but not least, thank you Leo, my one-eyed yellow Lab, who was my true inspiration for writing this story. You gentle readers can purchase the ebook at, as I mentioned earlier, Amazon and Amazon UKPeace, folks, and we'll talk to you soon....RJD
Anyone who stumbles upon this blog post who happens to also be a kindle user, The Fall now contains (almost) all of the illustrations from the paperback in the files. It was a long process of seeking information that doesn't seem readily available to the public, and then another long process of reformatting the files involved. However, all this work has created a product we can be proud of and that you, the Kindle reader, will find intriguing. Click here to be redirected to the kindle store for The Fall
That's right, for the first time ever, a person named Robert Duperre will have a short story published! And get paid for it!
My story, "Feeding The Passion", has been sold to darkeronline.com, an online magazine. It will be the feature story for their July/August issue.
I'm pretty damn pumped right now! Can't stop using exclamation points!

They are produced through Zazzle.com, and the products this company produces are all top-notch. So come on, buy some stuff! Show your support on the streets of your town, and help make this grassroots effort come alive. Soon, folks. RJD
Yesterday, we two particulars got together and trudged through some technical issues that needed rehashing, which means the Amazon store should be back up and running again. There might be a slight delay between the actions of ourselves and the publishers, however, so even if you head over there and find it "NOT AVAILABLE", don't worry about it; it'll be back up soon.
We've been stuck on 18 sales for a few days now. I am not depressed by this. It is a slow process, this building of a readership. Once the first round of reviews come in, we'll start our advertising campaign. After all, Clive Barker didn't just suddenly appear out of nowhere. He had to work at it. And work at it we will. Then...it's off to the races, my dearies.
We WILL do this. I guarantee you.

Well, here it is, folks. We here at TRO are pleased to announce that the first book is now available for purchase on Amazon.com. This is the completion of a long journey, just as the story itself is. Please feel free to click on the links below and purchase the book. (Included as well is the Lulu.com storefront for the more expensive hardcover version of the book) Also, for any who choose to join us on this adventure, it would be greatly appreciated if feedback were provided on the Amazon page. Reviews are very important. The more we receive, the greater our exposure. This is a grassroots effort to make the book you see here now a success. We cannot do it without you, and for your effort and money, you will be greatly entertained. Of this, I can guarantee.
On the last video blog, I showed everyone the proof I received for the first book. Well, now everything is moving along nicely. The Amazon page has just appeared, though I will not be announcing it until it is complete, which should be sometime next week (probably the 1st).
The wait is almost over. With that being the case, our goals for this project can now be told. Yes, we understand that it won't be selling like a Stephen King novel right away, but that's not what we're expecting. In publishing this book ourselves, we are looking to:
#1 - Sell at least four thousand copies
#2 - Receive one hundred valid Amazon reviews
#3 - Get some pub from five semi- and pro-paying magazine markets
#4 - Use this success to obtain an agent or a publishing deal for the next book, so we can reach a wider audience and don't have to go through the headache of it all again.
So there you have it. We'll be back in a few days with more information.

This Wednesday, the team is going to get together and work on putting the documents, illustrations, and cover together for this long-awaited project. We will be submitting it to the publisher soon after, should all go as planned...which is a big if. After that, it's a waiting game. Waiting for the proof, then approving it, then waiting for the amazon page to open. Yes, this is really a practice in patience. But we're doing it. And we...will...succeed!
Updates coming very soon...
