Well, today's a day I've been excited about for some time now.  That's right, The Fall has been reviewed by Pushy Fox over at Bewitched Bookworms, a fantastic blog run by 5 magnificent ladies!  Now Pushy (Heather) has been quite complimentary about this particular book, which goes to show that she 1) is awesome, and 2) has a lot of good taste.  And just to have our little slice of fiction reviewed alongside the likes of Meyer, Pittacus Lore, Amanda Hocking, JL Bryan, and the rest of the paranormal fiction crowd is really quite exhilarating.

Oh, and as an added bonus, the review comes complete with a giveaway of both The Fall and Dead of Winter!  So head on over there, write a comment with your email address, and wait a little bit for your chance to win actual hard copies of our first 2 books!

This is a great day, folks.  We're ron-a-roll, and we're not about to stop here.

For anyone who hasn't known, I, Robert Duperre, have been maintaining a review blog (Journal of Always Reviews) since this past July.  I've read a great many fantastic books over the last six or so months, and it's been a pleasure to dive in and see what kind of obscure meanings I can gleam from the text.  In truth, this does as much to improve my own writing as it does to help the authors who've created some fantastic, imaginative worlds.

Recently, after perusing Youtube and seeing the varying video game and movie reviews done through the venue of video, I became obsessed with creating a video review of my own, for a book, no less.  I decided to choose (author of The Trylle Trilogy and My Blood Approves) Amanda Hocking's Hollowland - firstly because it's in a genre I love (horror), and secondly, it's just a fantastic book.

Here's the video:

So enjoy, folks, and then go pick up the book.  Along the way, you might want to also pick up one of ours.

:-)

Peace!

Amanda Hocking, on whose site I wrote an article that was posted at the beginning of this month, has a book out called "Hollowland", a post-apocalyptic zombie tale, which is obviously a genre I adore.  Well, I read the book, and it's fantastic.

Yes.  Now, I will ramble.

I'm putting off writing a review right now.  It's something I know I have to do, but sometimes it can be such a stressful process - ESPECIALLY if it's a review for a book I loved.  I want to do the thing justice, and sometimes I wonder if I'll be able to pull it off.  Don't know why I do this to myself, though.  I always end up doing it, and doing it well, at that.  Perhaps it's just my inherent fear of "not being good enough".

Oh well.  On that note, our book sales have been stuck at one a day for this month.  I know this is good for a relatively unknown writer, but still, I'd like it to be more.  Let's face it, this is a good book - much better than a lot of things out there.  I just know that if folks were to find it, they'd think the same.  But the problem is getting them to discover the thing, isn't it?  I think I diluted myself into thinking releasing on Kindle would be the magic pill for some exposure...and while it has helped some, and I can't deny that fact, I still want MORE MORE MORE.

Jeez, can I whine, or what?  *sigh*  I just need to bust out of this rut I'm finding myself in and do it, already.  Get to editing, get to writing that review.  The only thing that's going to remedy our relative lack of sales is more effort on our part.  I'm not gonna give up, that's for fucking sure.  So keep on plugging, brother, I tells meself.  You can do it.

And maybe, just maybe, some folks will stumble upon this post and decide that buying a book about the end of the world is just the thing to pick up their day.  In that case, here's the link below to find it on Amazon.

Peace, everyone.

Well, we got the first little write-up of the book, and it's from my friend and the novel's first editor, Michelle Howarth.  She is declining to review it until she's re-read the story (while finally not having to stare at a glowing screen), but she was nice enough to link our site (and The Fall's product page on the Brit Amazon), so take a look if you like.  Also, put aside the time to peruse some of Shelly's own work.  She's one of the most talented young authors I've ever met, and her sense of humor is sublime.

You can visit the site by clicking on this sentence and then go to her reading/reviews section.

Let's keep it going.

Yesterday, we two particulars got together and trudged through some technical issues that needed rehashing, which means the Amazon store should be back up and running again.  There might be a slight delay between the actions of ourselves and the publishers, however, so even if you head over there and find it "NOT AVAILABLE", don't worry about it; it'll be back up soon.

We've been stuck on 18 sales for a few days now.  I am not depressed by this.  It is a slow process, this building of a readership.  Once the first round of reviews come in, we'll start our advertising campaign.  After all, Clive Barker didn't just suddenly appear out of nowhere.  He had to work at it.  And work at it we will.  Then...it's off to the races, my dearies.

We WILL do this.  I guarantee you.
