So 2011 is here at last.  Time for some updates!

It turns out the full release of Dead of Winter will only be delayed for a month.  Jesse is hard at work on the illustrations, and we'll be getting together the 15th of January to put it all together.

Also, for some even better news, the prices of both books will be dropping.  I've decided that I didn't use my space appropriately last time.  We will be changing the format of the first book (along with DoW) in order to drop the page count, which in turn will drop the price.  Look for both to be in the $10 to $13 range.  Condensing makes them that much more affordable...not to mention appearing more professional.  Which they are, by the way.

As a final note, after the release of the final DoW version, we'll be hard at work constructing the print for The Gate: 13 Dark and Odd Tales.   This one should come in the $5 to $6 range - a small and affordable book of shorts.

So we'll be seeing you soon, folks.  Remember to post reviews on Amazon or Goodreads whenever you finish a book.  We need your support.  There wouldn't be an us without you.

Peace,

RJD

Well, here it is, folks.  We here at TRO are pleased to announce that the first book is now available for purchase on Amazon.com.  This is the completion of a long journey, just as the story itself is.  Please feel free to click on the links below and purchase the book.  (Included as well is the Lulu.com storefront for the more expensive hardcover version of the book) Also, for any who choose to join us on this adventure, it would be greatly appreciated if feedback were provided on the Amazon page.  Reviews are very important.  The more we receive, the greater our exposure.  This is a grassroots effort to make the book you see here now a success.  We cannot do it without you, and for your effort and money, you will be greatly entertained.  Of this, I can guarantee.

On the last video blog, I showed everyone the proof I received for the first book.  Well, now everything is moving along nicely.  The Amazon page has just appeared, though I will not be announcing it until it is complete, which should be sometime next week (probably the 1st).

The wait is almost over.  With that being the case, our goals for this project can now be told.  Yes, we understand that it won't be selling like a Stephen King novel right away, but that's not what we're expecting.   In publishing this book ourselves, we are looking to:

#1 - Sell at least four thousand copies

#2 - Receive one hundred valid Amazon reviews

#3 - Get some pub from five semi- and pro-paying magazine markets

#4 - Use this success to obtain an agent or a publishing deal for the next book, so we can reach a wider audience and don't have to go through the headache of it all again.

So there you have it.  We'll be back in a few days with more information.

So, here we are now, with this new Journal space to write updates as to the progress of this here project.

Unfortunately, we here at TRO have run into a few snags in this whole self-publishing process.  There were some file saving errors that accounted for a virtual complete loss of data, so we basically had to start over, pretty much from scratch.  This was about a month ago.

However, I promise that this will not delay the release of The Fall for very much longer.  Our new deadline for launch is either the last week of April or the first week of May...of course, this is said with the caveate  that there will not be any further unexpected delays.  If there are, we will be sure to inform all who are interested here.

I wish to thank everyone for their support, and say that once you see the finished product, all the wait will be worth it.

Sincerely,

R&J
The TRO Team
